Eagles News · Ezell-Harding Names New Football Coach

We are excited to announce the hiring of Dustin McGee as the new head football coach at Ezell-Harding Christian School. After weeks of face-to-face and long distance interviews, Ezell-Harding officials and Coach McGee confirmed an agreement for him to lead the Eagles football program.  Coach McGee was selected to the position from over 60 resumes from 10 different states.  “The Ezell-Harding Christian School family is blessed to have a man of Coach McGee’s character, talent, and dedication to the Lord,” stated Dr. Lindsey Judd, Ezell-Harding President. “He will make an immediate impact on our students and community as both a coach and teacher. We are thrilled that he will be joining our Ezell-Harding family.”

Over the past three years, Coach McGee has served as the head football coach at Santiam High School in Mill Creek, Oregon.  Since he began his work there, he has been instrumental in turning around the football program and has had a significant impact on the overall athletic program at the school.  The administration, coaches, and players attribute much of this quick turnaround to the vision and culture created by Coach McGee both on and off the field.  He helped turn around a program that had won 9 total games from 2011-2014 to a program that won 22 games in three years, finishing 11-2 this season and runner up in the state championship game in 2A in Oregon, the first appearance in the state finals for Santiam HS since 1994.

Prior to his work at Santiam HS, Coach McGee was the assistant football coach and head baseball coach at Rison High School in Rison, Arkansas.  During his time as head baseball coach, Dustin helped lead the baseball team to its first winning season in 10 years.  He was also instrumental in helping lead the school to the 2013 State Weightlifting Championship.

Coach McGee received his B.S. in Health/Kinesiology from Harding University and his masters in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University.  He is married to Brooke Durgin McGee.

The McGees will be moving across the country toward the end of February and Dustin will begin his duties at Ezell-Harding on March 1st.  “I’m excited about this great opportunity to be a part of the family at Ezell-Harding,” Dustin remarked.  “My wife and I have enjoyed our time in Oregon, but look forward to moving closer to family and friends in Tennessee.  I can’t wait to get on campus and get to work with the great people at Ezell.”

Please join in welcoming Dustin and Brooke McGee to the Ezell-Harding Christian School family.
