The bowling season opened today at Hermitage Strike and Spare as the our new Lady Eagles faced off against Harpeth Hall and the Eagles against Montgomery Bell Academy. This years Lady Eagles team is currently made up of 7 Volleyball Players and a Soccer Player (Jinny Crawford) who is still with the soccer team hoping to advance to more post-season play later this week. Interestingly enough the Girls bowling team was still being formed as a last minute add of Rachel Batson allowed us a full team. Another point was that it was the first time that the head coach got to meet some of our Lady Eagles and the first time that our team had been together. Seniors Loren Rainey 312, Leilani Waack 311, and basketball loaner Rachel Batson 300 paced the team with Jenna Roberts, Cristy Del Rio, and Ana Delarosa also contributing to the cause. Loren garnered the high game honors with 158 as the Lady Eagles lost to a more experienced Harpeth Hall team 21-6.
On the boys side it was a different story as the Boys team started the season on a winning note with 22-5 victory over the Big Red. The Eagles had a large pin differential thanks to Seniors Mark Woody 561, Kenton Gentry 528, and Junior Jakub Szostak 542. Mark’s 213 was the high game for the boys but Jakub and Kenton both had 203’s to help the Eagle rout.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10th, the Eagles face off against DCA at the Smyrna Bowling Center while the Girls will get a chance to have some valuable practice time. Match time is at 3:45 pm.
